"We can no longer be satisfied with what we have done in the past and think that if we just work harder and do the same things, we will be prepared for the future."

There is no question that we have to live within our means. Many of us are doing that every day and the county government should do the same. We should always be mindful of the impact taxes have on working people, families and our seniors on fixed incomes. However, we all know that there are certain things the county has to provide and that we have to pay for. We need to strengthen and invest in the programs that work and eliminate those that don’t. We should look at ways to make the burden fair to all and review both the ways we spend and raise revenues and then match those to the needs of our county.

We can no longer be satisfied with what we have done in the past and think that if we just work harder and do the same things we will be prepared for the future. We must be more innovative and willing to listen to new ideas that will improve our economy, our educational system and our environment. Our parents and grandparents faced some of these same problems and they sacrificed so that we would have a better future. We should do no less, and I pledge to you the people of this county that if elected I will work hard to make sure that is the case.

"We must turn our attention to the future and ask ourselves, if what we are doing now will sustain us and our children into the future. We must be more innovative and willing to listen to new ideas that will improve our economy, our educational system and our environment. We need serious leaders to address these serious issues and that have the vision prepare us for the future.
